Asking for volunteers is always a tricky business, but it's a good bet that David Williamson, the magician in this video, didn't see this trick coming.
In a segment from his 1990s British TV show, Williamson calls a little boy named Murray up to help him perform a trick that involves three cards--one of which has a card glued to its back. The little boy spots the fourth card right away, and well, the sleight-of-hand gets out of hand fast.
As Williamson later described it at a magic convention in 2011, he didn't realize that Murray had a kids' eye view of the table--and the extra-thick third card. And then he called Murray to the podium, where the two of them bantered good-naturedly about the original show.
So all's well that ends well, though we're sure Williamson was pretty annoyed after his first encounter with Murray.
