Creating a warm, welcoming Thanksgiving scene is as easy as tossing together rich fall colors and harvest produce. Here, a range of farmstand elements displayed on a reclaimed wood plank provides a surprising casual-chic focal point. Pick a mix of fruits and plants that offer layers of seasonal texture and color. It’s so easy since all the warm colors of fall go together naturally!
What You’ll Need:
1 reclaimed rustic wood plank (To find a plank online simply do a Web search for "salvaged wood + [your town name]" to get a list of local lumberyards.)
A couple of handfuls of wheat sprigs
4-6 pillar candles (Optional: Terra-cotta saucers to place under candles and berry sprigs to encircle the base of the candles)
2 bunches each of green and red grapes
3-4 small gourds
1-2 dahlias or mums
To do: Set the plank in the center of the table, then line it with the wheat sprigs. Nest the candles on either end of the plank (either with or without terra-cotta coasters). Then tuck in grapes, gourds and flowers using our photo as a guide for balanced placement.
