When Julie Washington and her husband adopted three brothers--Michael, 6, Jess, 5, and Camden, 3--they already had two children of their own. Suddenly a mom of five, Washington was hesitant about taking in another when she heard that the boys' younger brother, Elijah, also needed a forever home.
"When I found out about Elijah we were still in the process of bringing our boys home," she said. "We went from having two to five kids and one has special needs. We weren't sure if we were able to take in another child," she said.
But she did know a couple who might be able to: her friend and Georgia neighbor, Jay Houston, 31, and her husband, George, who who already had two children of their own and three adopted children. The Houstons were excited to add one more to the bunch, especially since they knew they'd be keeping 17-month-old Elijah nearby his blood relatives.
"We made a pact to keep them together so it kind of just fell into place," said Washington.

Houston, who is now a mom of six, agrees. "I'm the youngest of seven kids and I was adopted," Houston said. "Growing up, that's always something I wanted to do. Elijah's former foster mom sent us video of him laughing, smiling, crawling and I knew he'd fit right in."
On the day of Elijah's adoption, Houston photographed Elijah, along with his siblings, Michael, 6, Jess, 5, and Camden, 3, in celebration of all four boys finding homes. The happy photo has since gone viral.
