But amongst the dresses and drama, one celebrity made headlines for a different reason--her decision not to stand by longtime love Ryan Gosling’s side as he fought it out against Hollywood’s finest for the coveted award of Best Actor.
“What people don’t know about me is that I love being home,” the mom of Esmeralda, 2, and Amada, 11 months, revealed.
“Instead of hitting the red carpet, I’d rather be with our girls.”
While the La La Land star ultimately lost out to Casey Affleck at the Oscars, he did win the award for Best Actor at this year’s Golden Globes, where he dedicated the statue to his darling partner and mother to his two daughters.
“While I was singing and dancing and playing piano...my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second and trying to help her brother with his battle with cancer. If she hadn’t taken that on, I couldn't have had that experience," he went on.
"Sweetheart, thank you. To my daughters, I love you," he concluded.
As she posed on the cover of the magazine looking oh-so-amazing in a rare display, the 43 year old explained how her second pregnancy changed her figure.
“In some ways, it’s been more challenging to get back in shape after my second daughter. Yet it’s not as hard as I thought it would be, because I’m always running around with the kids. I never sit down--I’m on the move all day," Eva said.
As a busy mom-of-two, the Fast and Furious actress confessed that she doubles her workout time as "me" time. “Working out allows me to spend time on myself,” she said, adding: “Knowing that I have an hour to dedicate to my wellness is a priority for me now.”
“I love doing intervals, like running and sprinting. Between intervals, I lift weights...I’m off-season right now, so I work out three days a week. But when I’m getting ready for an event or in the summer, it’s five days a week.”
And you can be sure she exercises the same amount of control and care with her diet--except for the occasional Cadbury chocolate egg, which she said are her weakness. “The mini ones and the big ones with the filling...I have to manage my sugar cravings constantly.”
Eva starts her day with eggs. “I think they’re like magic--you can do so much with them. I mostly keep it simple and have scrambled eggs and a piece of Ezekiel toast for breakfast.”
“I’ll eat the same thing for dinner. I’m a creature of habit in that way. I don’t get bored with food. I try to think about it as fuel for my body.”
Well whatever you're doing, Eva, it seems to be working!
