Police departments have to respond to a range of calls, but it's not every day you see first responders trying to put an end to a little monkey business.
Yet that's what the Sanford, Florida, police department was called upon to do when a pet monkey named Zeek escaped his backyard pen and went wild. The first sighting came from a neighbor, reporting that there was a monkey on a mailbox, munching on letters.

After his snack, Zeek spun around a few street signs until the patrol cars arrived. Then he decided the squad cars made the perfect playground, complete with stuff to destroy.

Apparently, Zeek is a regular escapee, so the police knew whom to call before too much damage was done. And luckily, they were able to keep him quiet until his owner arrived with the perfect distraction: a water bottle! Looks like all that monkeying around left Zeek pretty thirsty.
