A little sugar turns an ordinary apple into a shimmery tabletop accent that doubles as a sweet take-home favor.
*What you’ll need (for each sugared apple): *
1 egg white
1 mixing bowl
2 soup bowls
1 container pink decorative sugar (from the supermarket baking aisle)
1 container green decorative sugar (from the supermarket baking aisle)
1 heart-shaped sticker (store-bought or snipped from a self-adhesive address label)
1 eight inch length of narrow satin ribbon
To do: Add the egg white to the mixing bowl. Pour the pink sugar into one soup bowl and the green sugar into the other. Press the heart sticker onto the apple. Dip half the apple in the egg white, then pink sugar. Let dry for 10 minutes. Repeat to coat the other half with green sugar. Let dry for 20 minutes. Finish by peeling off the sticker and tying the satin ribbon onto the stem of the apple.
