The country music world mourned the loss of Joey Feek, of the talented duo Joey+Rory, when she died on March 4, 2016, just months after ending treatment for cervical cancer. Feek famously refused further medical treatment for her illness and entered hospice care in late 2015. Soon after she did, she received a personalized video message from one of her heroes, Dolly Parton, a blog post from her husband, Rory Feek, revealed.
As you'll see in the moving tribute, Dolly had learned Joey was a fan and just had to tell her that the feeling was very much mutual. The country legend's words for the ailing star are so beautiful, you can feel Joey's gratitude jump through the screen. And they just may comfort you if you feel yourself needing them. Watch the video below, and then click through to see the most inspiring words Joey, herself, has shared.

"She said that when you’re lying in a bed day after day and you can do nothing and you don’t know if you’re gonna be here next Christmas, or next month or even next week… you suddenly become hyper-aware that today… that this moment – is all you have. And that today is enough. It truly is a gift," Joey's Husband Rory wrote on his blog.
