“My worst fear came true when I got the call that my teenage son, Dan, had been in an accident—he’d swerved to avoid hitting a dog, and his car rolled down an embankment. I arrived at the ER braced for the worst, but when I saw he only had a small gash on his head, I burst into thankful tears.
“‘They said it’s a miracle I’m alive,’ Dan said as I hugged the breath out of him. ‘Everything on the car is totaled…except this.’ His hand shook as he held out the fabric CD storage case that used to be clipped to the car’s visor.
“Attached to the case was the Guardian Angel pin I had put in his car the day he started driving. I smiled and said, ‘I think an angel was on highway patrol today!’”
