There's nothing more heartbreaking for a kid than having their birthday party go horribly wrong. For Rachelle Briannan' 4-year-old son, Taenon, that moment came when everyone invited failed to show up to her 4-year-old son's birthday party, with several guests canceling just an hour before.
To avoid upsetting her son further, the devastated mom went into her room to calm down--and she also signed onto Facebook, where she posted about the upsetting incident on the page of a mothers' group she belonged to in Melbourne, Australia.
“So I’m sitting in my room quietly crying," the emotional post read. "My son just turned four and this is the first time he’s really understood the whole party with friends thing... What the hell can I do to make this up to him?”

Other moms in the group were shocked by the post--and they sprang into action to help.
The group arranged for their children to go to a McDonald’s restaurant in Eltham, Melbourne, to celebrate Taenon's birthday--and 55 people turned up, including 30 kids he'd never met before.
And when the local fire department caught wind of what was happening, they arrived at the party and let Taenon and his new friends explore their truck.
Touched by the outpouring of kindness for her son, the grateful mother then posted another heartfelt message to her fellow moms.
