Debbie Reynolds’s Final Moments Reveal She Was All About Her Beloved Daughter

We’re so sad about the sudden passing of Hollywood icon Debbie Reynolds, just one day after her daughter, actress Carrie Fisher, died after suffering complications from a heart attack. And now that we know the details about Reynolds’ final moments, are hearts are even more broken for her family members, friends, and loved ones.

It seems that Reynolds, 84, had been hunkered down at her and Carrie’s Beverly Hills, CA home, in the middle of planning funeral arrangements for her daughter, 60, when she began having trouble breathing. Someone from the home called 911, and Reynolds was rushed to the hospital for a possible stroke, according to NBC News. She died a short time later.

Reynolds’ final words were poignant, says her son, Todd Fisher, who was present at the property when Reynolds fell ill.

“I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie,” the star said, Todd told TMZ.

He also spoke to Variety, saying, “She wanted to be with Carrie.”

Just a day earlier, Reynolds had taken to social media to thank fans for their support in the wake of her daughter’s death.

“Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter,” she wrote . “I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop.”

Several in Hollywood have spoken up to share their heartbreak and shock at Reynolds’ passing, and to offer words of tribute to the legendary star.

Her Will and Grace costars were among the first to speak out.

Born Mary Frances Reynolds in El Paso, Texas, in 1932, Reynolds moved to California as a child and was discovered by talent scouts while competing in a Miss Burbank beauty pageant at age 16. Her breakout role was in the 1950 film Three Little Words, but it was her first leading role in 1952 at age 19 in Singin’ in the Rain, that set her on the path to fame. By the mid-1950s, she was a major star.

She had two children: son Todd, 58, an actor, and daughter Carrie, who passed away at age 60.
