It doesn't take much to captivate a toddler. A game, a like-minded playmate, getting up-close-and-personal with some baby animals. The possibilities are endless.
Sometimes, though, you hit a trifecta with your choice of entertainment. That's what happened to Sherry Chute, of Columbus, Ohio, when she took her 2-year-old, Isaiah, to the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium. Stopping by the Congo Expedition, Chute and her husband asked their son what gorillas do. When the boy pounded his chest, he caught the attention of another youngster--a 2-year-old gorilla named Kamoli.
That's when the fun began. For five minutes, Isaiah and Kamoli started playing a high-spirited game of peekaboo until they finally wore each other out, and the boy said "bye-bye" to his new pal.
As Chute told the The Columbus Dispatch: "He was just so truly blissful in that moment, it melted his mommy's heart."
Lucky for us, we get to experience the same heart-melting encounter.
