Pit bulls often get a bad rap for being dangerous, though there are plenty of owners who can prove otherwise. But these seven pitties take the prize for the most peaceful pups ever--even when provoked.
Last weekend, Kyla Grover and a couple of friends were walking their dogs when they passed by 78-year-old Betty Jean Thompson's garden. Thompson yelled at them to get their dogs away. "I have a cat," she told them.

Not just any cat, either. Baby is a 16-year-old, out-of-shape feline who is, presumably, as grumpy as she is fearless. Without warning, she went after the pups, mauling one in the process. Both dog and owner were so scratched up that together they ended up needing emergency care.
Everyone is fine now, but what has people so amazed is the dogs' collective reaction. "Any one of those pit bulls could have killed the cat," Grover told Inside Edition. "They didn't." The dog that was attacked just sat there and took it.
The silver lining? The dogs' owners say this story may finally put to rest the myth of the aggressive pit bull.
