Carrie Underwood Just Said the Sweetest Thing About Dolly Parton

Tags:

Dolly Parton and Carrie Underwood are two of our favorite country ladies, and it looks like they have taken a liking to each other, too.

Underwood recently uploaded an Instagram picture of the dynamic duo and revealed the cute nickname she has for Parton. The 33-year-old shared a photo of the two at the Country Music Awards last November with the caption: “#TBT to a moment from the 50th CMA Awards I will never forget! @dollyparton will forever be my good luck charm! ❤️ @cma” How sweet!

Given that Underwood did take home the prize for Female Vocalist of the Year, beating out Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves among others, Parton really might be one lucky lady. Although, Underwood is certainly one talented performer who truly earned her award, regardless of luck.

With more than 40 more years of experience than Underwood, Parton has definitely served as both inspiration and mentor. In fact, Underwood has listed Parton as one of the many singers who has influenced her style.

The Storyteller songstress might even be Dolly’s number 1 fan.

“There were a lot of artists–a lot of women, especially–that, what can I say, I just fell in love with [growing up], but there was one in particular…I don’t know, there’s just something about her,” Underwood told the crowd at a concert last year before singing a moving rendition of her idol’s hit “I Will Always Love You.” “Her name is Dolly Parton.”

“Over the years, I’ve come to realize that she just has that thing that all of us women in country want to have,” she continued. “She has that career, she has just that personality. She does everything so well. She is an incredible storyteller, and songwriter and performer and vocalist. Everybody in the world knows Dolly Parton.”
