Too-cute-to-toss tomato tins can be recycled into pretty pierced lanterns in minutes! They’ll set a warm and welcoming mood at your next spaghetti feast—or anytime!
*What you’ll need: *
Assorted tomato cans (ranging from 6 oz. to 28 oz.)
1 bucket of sand
1 bucket of water
1 long, sharp nail
Fill a clean, empty can with sand. Add water until the top of the sand is soaked, then place in the freezer for 2 hours. (The frozen mixture will give structure to the can so its shape remains intact.) Rest the frozen can on its side and punch holes in it with a hammer and sharp nail, creating simple patterns. Next, invert the can into a bowl and allow it to thaw. Rinse, pat dry and insert a votive candle.
