With the addition of an easy avocado relish, Bobby Flay transforms this American favorite into an all-out showstopper that's perfect for a backyard bash
2 avocados, chopped
1/2 *small onion, *diced
1 jalapeño, diced
1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro
1 lime, juiced
1 1/2 lbs. ground chuck
1 1/2 Tbs. canola oil
4 slices Monterey-Jack cheese
4 hamburger buns, toasted
In bowl, combine first 4 ingredients and juice of lime. Season with salt and pepper.
Divide meat into 4 portions; form each into 3/4"-thick burger. With thumb, make imprint in center of burgers. Season burgers with salt and pepper.
Heat grill. Brush burgers with oil. Grill 3 min., then flip. Cook additional 4 min. Top each with slice of cheese and a basting cover during last minute of cooking.
Place burgers on bun bottoms; top each with watercress, tomato slices and avocado mixture. Cover with bun tops.
