Fire up the grill this Fourth of July for these classic All-American ribs—they’re finger-lickin’ good!
1/3 cup dry barbecue seasoning rub, like McCormick
2 racks pork baby back ribs (about 3 lbs. each)
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp. chili powder
2 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce, like Tabasco
Sprinkle barbecue rub over both sides of rib racks. Place each rack in center of large piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil; fold foil over ribs, pressing to seal. Let sit 1 hr.
Meanwhile, in pot over low heat, bring ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, hot pepper sauce and 1⁄2 cup water to a simmer. Let simmer 30 min. or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Heat grill to medium. Place foil packets on grill; close cover. Cook ribs 1 1/2 hrs., turning once. Unwrap ribs; drain off juices, if desired. Grill 30 min. or until tender, brushing often with 1/2 sauce mixture. Serve ribs with remaining sauce mixture.
