This happy homemade bookmark fashioned from recycled fabric scraps is a sweet and simple gift to toss together with the kids!
*What you’ll need (for each envelope): *
1 piece of 2" x 5" cardstock
Fabric (recycle last year’s clothing or pajamas—from the kids—or you!)
Thin satin ribbon
To do: Cut a piece of fabric (about 5" x 7") and wrap it around the cardstock (then iron). Use fabric glue to secure the edges to the backside of your bookmark. Optional: Snip heart and/or star shapes from the fabric and secure to the front of the bookmark with more fabric glue. (If fabric is fraying on any edges, use Dritz Fray Check Liquid Seam Sealant, $3.20, at OnlineFabricStore.net and craft stores) Finish by punching a hole in the top of the fabric-covered bookmark, threading a ribbon through the hole and knotting it in place.
