Frozen dessert barons Ben and Jerry have cornered the market in the ice cream aisle, and they’re finally extending the deliciousness of their drool-worthy flavors to those who have missed out for years: people who don’t eat dairy.
Though the team announced on their blog back in July that non-dairy ice cream was coming, they published an update just last week saying the new line is not only going to be free of dairy but also certified 100% vegan by Vegan Action.

Fans have been asking them for quite some time to release a line of dairy-free offerings, but they say it has taken so long to actualize because they want the “ice cream to be the best ever.” What that means for Ben & Jerry’s and their extremely lucky team of recipe developers and tasters is a lot of testing. As of July, the company says it hopes to make the flavors available in the United States next year.
Coming from this team of dessert alchemists, we’re positive you’ll want to try all the flavors whether or not you follow a dairy-free diet. Though there’s no word yet on what the new flavors might be, their July blog promised the “enormous chunks” and “delicious swirls” that won over ice cream-loving hearts in the first place.
