Carved candleholders (filled with recycled around-the-house tapers and tea lights) make a dramatic flickering focal point for a harvest-time dining or coffee table.
*What you’ll need: *
Assorted mini pumpkins or squash
Recycled tapers, tea lights or votive candles from around the house
To do: For the candle bowls shown, cut the tops off some of the small pumpkins or squash using the serrated knife. Then scoop out the fruit with the metal spoon. Use the paring knife to etch zigzags and dots into the rinds, then pop in candles. For the squash taper holders, carve out small circular wells in the gourd tops using the paring knife. Then press taper candles into the holes.
