Amazing News for Women With Advanced Breast Cancer

Tags:

If you or anyone you love has been diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, we just heard some encouraging news. According to a new study, women with advanced breast cancer are surviving longer than they used to. Even better? The study reflected improved survival among all ages.

The study found that between 1992 and 1994, and between 2005 and 2012, the five-year survival rate among women under age 50 diagnosed with advanced breast cancer had doubled from 18 percent to 36 percent. The median survival time for women under 50 increased from 22.3 months to almost 39 months. And for women aged 50 to 64, the survival time increased from a little more than 19 months to almost 30 months.
