What do you do if your only child is terminally ill and makes a request that you feel honor-bound to fulfill? Do you keep fighting it even if the laws rules that you can't carry it through? When their 23-year-old daughter was diagnosed with colon cancer, she decided to freeze her eggs and told her mom she wanted HER to carry the babies after she died. Mrs. M has stated that her daughter told her: "I didn't go through IVF to save my eggs for nothing. I want you and Dad to bring them up, they will be safe with you," according to BBC.com.

At first, the British court ruled against the parents, saying there was no evidence that the daughter had given her mom permission to become her surrogate. But last week, the parents won their appeal, and the court will hear the case again. If it rules in her favor, Mrs. M plans on traveling to New York for IVF treatments. Mrs. M said in a statement that her daughter was "clear that she wanted her genes to be carried forward after her death."
